Completion of this survey is voluntary and there will be no adverse consequences should you choose not to participate or to complete portions of the survey. All the information collected will remain completely anonymous. Data collected may also be used for research purposes and publications may result from this study. No comments or responses from individual participants will be attributable to any specific individual. I understand that completing the Evaluation survey implies my consent to willingly participate. Learning Objects: The concept of learning objects is borrowed from the object-oriented paradigm of computer science. The idea is that an instructional designer can create small components that can be used and reused in a number of different contexts. This allows the user to adapt the objects to any number of appropriate pedagogical contexts. The Internet serves as the delivery mechanism for these objects so they may be used simultaneously by several different people. Repurposing Content: BELLE Content Re-purposing is the process by which a piece of content is modified from an analogue or digital format into a digital format that is optimised for web delivery. Instructional Designers are able to assemble educational objects into larger constructs and then break them into their individual parts again so they can be re-assembled for other purposes. This approach has several implications, one of which is the ability to quickly re-purpose content to meet new educational needs as they arise. Another is the reduction in the time and expense for instructional designers who are assembling these objects to meet specified pedagogical needs. |
